Village Community School (VCS) uses the Ravenna application system for admissions, including scheduling appointments and submitting required documents.

The admissions process starts after Labor Day, and kindergarten applicants must be 5 years old by December 31, 2025.

Steps to Apply

  1. Create a Ravenna account.
    • Create a Ravenna account to manage your VCS application, schedule appointments, and submit required documents.
       
  2. Complete and Submit Your Application.
    • Complete and submit your VCS application through Ravenna by 5:00 p.m. on November 25, 2024.
       
  3. Schedule School Tour, Parent Interview, and Applicant Visit.
    • School Tours: Parents may participate in an in-person school tour, which can be scheduled via Ravenna. No application is required to schedule a tour.
    • Parent Interviews: Conducted in person or remotely. A Zoom link will be provided for remote interviews.
    •  Applicant Visits:
      • Kindergarten and 1st Grade: Applicants attend 45-minute small group sessions with the Admissions team.
      • 2nd–8th Grade: Applicants will be scheduled for classroom visits in January.
         
  4. Submit Required Additional Items.
    • Transcripts (Grades 1-8): Request that your child’s current and prior schools send the first semester's report card this year and the transcripts for the two previous school years as applicable.
    • Teacher Report: Your child's current teacher must submit the ISAAGNY Confidential School Report Form.
    • ISEE Test Scores (Grades 5–8): Applicants for Grades 5–8 are required to take the ISEE exam. Scores must be sent directly to VCS. ISEE testing is not required for applicants to Grades 2–4.
       
  5. Submit Tuition Assistance Application (if applicable).
    •  If applying for tuition assistance, complete and submit your FAST Tuition Assistance Application and supporting documents by 5:00 p.m. on November 25, 2024.

Decision Notification

The VCS application deadline is Monday, November 25th, 2024. Families who apply by the November 25th deadline will be notified by email according to the ISAAGNY timeline:

Kindergarten Applicants:
  • Notification is no earlier than 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 6th, 2025.
  • Parents must reply no later than 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 13th, 2025.
Grades 1–8 Applicants:
  • Notification is no earlier than 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 13th, 2025.
  • Parents must reply no later than 12:00 p.m. on Monday, March 3rd, 2025.
