Tuition & Tuition Assistance

• Because financial circumstances may change from year to year, families must reapply annually.
   
• The VCS Tuition Assistance Committee makes decisions independent of admissions, and all applications, financial disclosures, documents, and awards are strictly confidential.
   
• Families who initially enroll their children at VCS without receiving tuition assistance may apply after the completion of two consecutive years at the School.
   
• In instances of parental separation or divorce, VCS maintains the expectation that both parents/legal guardians will continue to uphold their respective financial obligations to the School.  Accordingly, each parent/legal guardian is required to submit a separate tuition assistance application.
   
• Tuition accounts must be current in order for an award of tuition assistance to be made.

• 10% enrollment deposit (as compared with 20% standard)


• No fee for the selection of a monthly tuition payment plan


• Student Bond and Building Fund fee at enrollment are waived


• Assistance for PlayGroup


• One Later Jays class at no cost per student per term, from a select list of classes, class size is limited, therefore, availability is not guaranteed.


• Assistance for After School Music Lessons


• Assistance for VCS Day Camp, class size is limited and is filled in order of registration, therefore, availability is not guaranteed.


• Assistance for VCS Beyond the Classroom, class size is limited and is filled in order of registration, therefore, availability is not guaranteed.

• Discounted Yearbook year-end messages


• Assistance for Brooklyn/Queens Bus

VCS processes its tuition assistance application through Clarity. Clarity will open its application platform on Monday, September 14th, 2026.

To ensure timely processing, please follow these steps:

1. Single Application: If you have more than one child applying to VCS or to multiple schools, only one Clarity application is required. Be sure to select VCS as a recipient of the Clarity Financial Aid Application.
    
2. Supporting Documents: Submit the following documents directly to Clarity:

• Your 2025 W-2 and 1099 income statements.
• Your 3 most recent paystubs.
• Any additional documentation requested by Clarity during their assessment.
• If any part of your financial information is complex or potentially confusing, please include a written explanation for Clarity.

3.   Deadlines: Completed applications and supporting documents are due by:

• Returning Families: Monday, November 23rd, 2026
  Tuition assistance decisions will be communicated by mid-January
   
• New Families: Monday, December 4th, 2026
  Tuition assistance decisions will be communicated concurrently with admissions decisions
